Fresh off my Cali adventure with my bicoastal bestie - belly adequately filled, travel bug temporarily at bay, inspiration ready to be cultivated, and jet lag slightly diminished. Here's a look at my weekend jaunt in Cali that included San Fran, wine country, and Santa Cruz.
Brunch at Plow
Strawberry jam and butter on bird bread at The Mill
On arrival, our first stop for immediate fortification was at Plow, one of my San Fran radish recs. We enjoyed a seasonal egg scramble, greens, and split one life changing, gluten-free almond pancake. From there we bopped around a bit, swung by the de Young Museum for some culture, grabbed a snack of "hipster" toast at The Mill, and said hello to "the ladies".
Enroute to Santa Cruz we had a delicious ceviche-filled dinner with a gorgeous view at La Costanera, which is perched above Montara Beach.
Scribe Winery
Healdsburg Shed
Sugar snap pea salad and mezze at Shed
We hit the road for an overnight in wine country. The perfect afternoon was spent sipping rosé and taking in the vista at Scribe Winery. Brunch and perusing was had at Shed, a mecca in Healdsburg for any food lover. The store, cafe, restaurant, and event space is a "must see" for any visitor to wine country. Be sure to check out my Radish Recs: wine country for my other favorite spots.
Santa Cruz surfers
Pickled vegetables and egg plate and vegan board with cashew cheese, hemp seed paté, dried fruit, and spiced yam chips at Cremer House.
The rest of our trip was spent in Santa Cruz where we soaked in the sun, took a few barre classes, and hit up the local farmers' market.
Travel often leads to a renewed sense of inspiration and motivation. I am excitingly looking forward to sharing some delicious and fortifying eats and treats ahead. Until next time, Cali.
