I have been quite overdo for a Friday Favorites. Amid working on recipes, finishing culinary school, and launching my video course over on mind body green, FF slipped out my wheelhouse. I have to be honest, I have had a few tough weeks where I have been feeling uninspired, unmotivated, and overwhelmed with my mounting "to-do" list. I am forever grateful to the incredible community of vegheads who push me to keep going, but I would love to hear from you! What would like to see more of on crunchy radish? Or more importantly, how do you stay inspired when you are feeling a tad lackluster?
Without further ado, here are this weeks Friday Favorites.
Beauty Counter Broad Spectrum SPF 30. I have been slathering this on my face and arms everyday throughout the summer. Not only is it odor-free, it does not leave any white residue in its place. It is also free of the chemical sun blocker oxybenzone, which soaks through skin, triggers allergic skin reactions, and may be a hormone disruptor. This SPF also includes shea butter and Vitamin C to help you get that glow!
Stranger Things on Netflix's - I nervously started watching it this past weekend with family in Sag Harbor and now I can't stop! I think the soundtrack may be my favorite part.
Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi - one of the best books that I have read in a long time. Heart breaking, engrossing, and beautifully written. Pick up a copy ASAP!
Armenian serpent cucumber which I found at a farm stand in Southampton this past weekend. Not only did I peel it and toss it in a crunchy salad, I got to poke and prod my cousins with it :)
Tyler Florence Oval Salad Board from Williams Sonoma. I have been obsessed with this gorgeous wooden salad board for a while! I love the idea of chopping and serving all in one place - not to mention how aesthetically pleasing a summer or any season salad would look on this rich walnut wood. I think this would make the perfect house warming gift (hint, hint).
