A Very Crunchy Radish Wedding: Part I

July 12, 2016 Miranda Hammer

For our wedding, we knew we wanted to transport people out of the urban environs of the city. We wanted water, we wanted green, we wanted elegance and, like any couple looking for the perfect backdrop for their "I do's", it becomes a mission. We found the perfect setting that encompassed all our wants at White Gate Farm in East Lyme, Connecticut. The farm and the surrounding areas offered so much beauty, relaxation, and association to food, we were sold. Our incredible die-hard, coordinator Josh Chalmers of Earth 2 Events, made every one of our visions a reality...but more on that later.

currently coveting

I am a huge hand washer. Not only is hand washing economical, you avoid saturating your clothes and your body, with harsh chemicals from the dry cleaners. The Laundress produces nontoxic, eco friendly detergents that preserve your clothes and leave them smelling divine. The chic and clean packaging make you feel less Cinderella and more Princess Kate as you scrub your delicates clean. Essential oils from lavender, citrus, and musk leave your wares smelling lovely, and plant-based enzymes remove odors, stains, and perspiration. Whether it is your favorite silk blouse or lace-lined intimates, leave it to The Laundress to keep your goods looking and smelling their best.

One Simple Hack for a Happier Week

March 17, 2015 Miranda Hammer

A few weeks back, a good friend and I went to the flower market in New York City. We bundled up and charged full-force into the bustling market hoping to snag a few branches and some assorted floral varietals. I have always been a sucker for ranunculus - their delicate beauty, whimsy, and romantic qualities hold a permanent foothold in my heart. We secured a few cherry blossom branches, perfect for a tall vase, burnt orange ranunculus, and white Sweet William and rushed home to work some magic. My buddy and I created one dramatic arrangement which I slowly repurposed throughout the week to accommodate a few fallen soldiers and to bring new life to different rooms.

Weekend Essentials

March 7, 2015 Miranda Hammer

Hope everyone is off to a great weekend. Looks like we are having a "heat wave" here on the east coast, hitting a balmy 40 degrees. Here are a few of my essentials for this weekend.

I will be hitting up a pizza party at this institution.

Hoping to bop into this gallery show at some point

Still sore and going back for more at my new favorite workout destination

Will likely binge on a few of these

Finally painting my apartment! I am thinking about this color for the entryway

Have a great weekend!
